Get ready Macon — two more days & Sparky & Bolt are on the road in our city! Macon is the first transit authority in the state with electric buses on the roadways.

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and the University of Georgia have electric buses, but they operate on their respective campuses only.

MTA invites you to ride Macon’s newest bus route — the Second Street Corridor on “Sparky” one of two new electric buses. The 8 mile, one-hour route provides a bird’s eye view of the new roadway & new bridge.

You’ll pass the new public housing & senior housing on Plant Street next door to the Mercer bridge and Stadium Drive entrance to the college. Before returning to the Terminal Station “Sparky” stops in front of Coliseum Hospital, for the first time ever! Lots to be proud of in our city, including our brand new electric buses!

Sparky & Bolt begin service Monday morning, November 16 at 6:00 a.m. While Sparky cruises the Second Street Corridor, Bolt will cover various other routes.
