Americans with Disabilities Act

Our agency is committed to providing accessible transportation services to all members of our community, including individuals with disabilities and those who are protected under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to employment, public accommodations, transportation, and other aspects of society. Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority is committed to complying with the ADA and providing accessible transportation services to all individuals.

Our paratransit vehicles are equipped with ramps, wheelchair lifts, and securement devices to ensure that individuals with mobility disabilities can safely and comfortably access our services. We also offer priority seating and stop request systems for individuals with visual or hearing impairments on all buses.

In addition to our physical accommodations, we also provide reasonable modifications to our services to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access our services. This may include modifications to our policies, practices, and procedures or additional assistance during boarding or disembarking. MTA will provide accessible formats of system information, policies, or procedures upon request.
