December 15, 2020: APTA, the American Public Transportation Authority recognizes the transit authorities around the country that have pledged to uphold the industry’s best practices during the daunting COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to MTA’s commitment to the health & safety of our employees, passengers and the community, we were one of the first authorities to mandate temperature checks, physical distancing and masks.

We began sanitizing/disinfecting on March 4, before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and before the first COVID case was reported in Macon-Bibb County. MTA will continue to uphold the highest health & safety standards to maintain the trust of our passengers, employees and community.
