Thank you Victoria DeCardenas, Perry Smith & WGXA for the opportunity to respond to a rider’s concern. MTA staff works diligently every day to serve our riders and Macon-Bibb County safely.
We’re proud of our response to the pandemic, never missing a day of service. Our riders count on us and we deliver. We were among the first authorities to mandate temperature checks (March 13, 2020) and masks (April 20, 2020). Our riders maintain safe distance in the Transfer Station (at least 6 feet) and on our buses (maximum of 15 riders). We sanitize our buses after every roundtrip & again at night with a high powered disinfectant.
As we said from the beginning of the pandemic: “We follow the science. We operate with common sense, courtesy, & with safety in mind, yours & ours. If you ride an MTA bus you must wear a mask & maintain distance. We thank you & appreciate your cooperation.”
Thank you to our heroic frontline workers and to our hardworking administrative staff. It takes ALL of US to KEEP MACON MOVING.https://wgxa.tv/…/mta-responds-to-complaint-on…
