In addition to Fixed-Route positions, We’re looking for Bus Operators who also provide paratransit services for passengers with disabilities. No CDL is required for paratransit drivers, making this an inclusive opportunity for those without a commercial driver’s license. Paratransit driver positions start at $13.50/hour.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a paratransit vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Assist passengers, including the elderly, disabled, or those with special needs, on and off the vehicle courteously and respectfully.
- Ensure accurate completion of daily inspection reports, checking the vehicle for any safety or operational issues before and after each route.
- Provide timely and accurate service while operating in all types of weather conditions.
- Demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills with passengers, co-workers, and the general public.
- Adhere to schedules while providing excellent customer service to passengers.
- Conduct emergency evacuation when required, understanding and operating all emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, and two-way radios.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or unusual occurrences promptly to management.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug & alcohol screen.
- Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to work various shifts, including Saturdays.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations calmly and courteously.

We are currently seeking Bus Operators with a CDL or CDL with a “P” endorsement to join our team.
As a Bus Operator, you will play a crucial role in transporting passengers by operating public transit vehicles on regularly scheduled routes, while ensuring adherence to all traffic laws, safety rules, and time schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to passengers.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
- Provide accurate information about the use of our services to passengers.
- Resolve passenger disputes in a courteous manner.
- Operate wheelchair lift equipment and assist disabled passengers.
- Announce bus stops in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Communicate with dispatch and road supervision via radio equipment.
- Adhere to all work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Observe all federal, state, and municipal traffic laws and safety rules.
- Follow assigned routes and time schedules.
- Ensure proper fares are collected.
- Verify the appropriate use of passes by customers.
- Prepare required reports and documents.
- Assist customers during emergency accidents or incidents.
- Perform any other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or GED
- Possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Successfully pass a DOT physical and DOT Drug and Alcohol screen
- Must be available to work various shifts, including days, evenings, Saturdays, and any hours assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with Georgia Traffic Laws
- Willing to learn how to use computers and communication equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to safely operate MTA vehicles.
- Adherence to route schedules in mixed traffic conditions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Courteous and effective interaction with the public

Work Environment and Special Considerations:
- Schedule includes working various shifts, including days, evenings, and Saturdays.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time physically.
- Compliance with all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements regarding the testing of safety-sensitive employees
- This position is considered safety-sensitive under FTA drug and alcohol regulations (49 CFR Part 655)
