Due to the lack of ridership, the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority is considering the elimination of the bus route known as the Second Street Corridor.

Any citizen, community-based organization, or other affected stakeholders may ask for a public hearing by contacting Brenda Banks at (478) 621-7123, extension 7123. All written comments are to be sent via U.S. mail and should be addressed to:

Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority
Attn: Service Change
2737 Broadway
Macon, GA, 31206

Comments may also be sent via e-mail and should be addressed to mta@mta-mac.com.

With the elimination of the Second Street Corridor Route, the area that this route currently covers will continue to be serviced by the Eisenhower/Chambers Road, Bellevue, West Macon and East Macon Route.

If MTA does not receive community input on this proposed change within 15 days of this notice and the change is approved by the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Board of Directors, the elimination of the Second Street Corridor Route will become effective at least 30 days after approval.

Upon the request for a public hearing, foreign language translation, sign language interpretation, and other accommodations are available to the public for MTA sponsored meetings. All requests for reasonable accommodations must be made at least three (3) working days or 72 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting date. Please call (478) 621-7123 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
