Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) recently tested it’s new charging station, slated for use this fall with the arrival of MTA’s two K9S electric buses built by BYD (Build Your Dreams) in Lancaster, California.
In advance of the delivery of the two electric buses, BYD sent an electric bus to Macon to test MTA’s new charging station. John Hatch, BYD’s Regional Sales Manager took members of MTA’s team for a ride in the bus after the charging demonstration.
According to MTA CEO Craig Ross, “We’re eagerly awaiting our two new electric buses which were on the assembly line in California last winter when COVID-19 hit, so we understand the delay in delivery. We’re pleased with the trial we conducted, with the charging station performing just as we hoped it would. We will continue to monitor the progress of our two electric buses as they prepare to come off the assembly line and travel to Macon.”
