MTA is proud to serve Macon-Bibb County and we appreciate our bus operators, supervisors, mechanics and bus washers who care for our fleet here in Macon. It’s in this spirit of gratitude that we think of our counterparts in New York and New Jersey who were hammered by Hurricane Ida on Wednesday, September 1. We send our prayers for their safety and for those they serve. Transit professionals are some of the most unsung heroes of the pandemic, and of yesterday’s storm. They show up for work every day without fanfare taking riders where they need to go — from doctor’s appointments to college, and from work to the grocery store and pharmacy. You are the best! Here’s a big shoutout to those who keep their city moving!
