Mr. Dorsey, 82, peacefully passed away on November 14, 2022.
According to his obituary, Tony Dorsey was born on December 17, 1939, he was raised near Houma, Louisiana and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he played in the renowned Southern University Marching Band and later joined the U.S. Air Force Band.


Mr. Dorsey became a professional trombonist affectionately known as “Tony Bone.”
He was a composer, arranger, and bandleader eventually landing a dream job — assist in the production of Paul McCartney’s Album “Venus and Mars”. He traveled with Paul McCartney and Wings on the “Wings Over the World” and “Wings Over America” tours until 1980.
Mr. Dorsey performed with his own band titled “Bone, Holmes and Friends,” with his wife Mary Holmes Dorsey as lead vocalist. The legendary band traveled the Southeast region of the United States until they officially retired in 2008.
Mr. Dorsey’s memory will forever be treasured by his beloved family.
