Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) Announces a New FREE FARE Program

Thursday, February 27, 2020

The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority announces an expansion of our Kids Ride Free program that entitled children shorter than the bus fare box to ride MTA buses FREE.

The measure, proposed by MTA CEO Craig Ross, was approved by the MTA board at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 25.

Beginning Monday, March 2, all children 12 years-old and under ride FREE. The FREE FARE applies to all days and times of MTA service.

Please note, for safety, children 12 and under must be accompanied by a person at least 18 years-old.

According to MTA CEO Craig Ross, “The MTA is always looking for ways to serve the community that are innovative and yet, practical. This expansion of our Kids Ride Free program to include children under 13 years-old provides a little extra relief for hard working families, on which our board and staff always are focused.”
