Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Celebrates Our Return to Full Ridership With Free Fare Days, Monday & Tuesday, June 14 & 15.
As more and more Americans are vaccinated and COVID-19 restrictions are lifting, MTA is excited to make two announcements:
1. We’re returning to full capacity on our Fixed Route buses, up from 15 passengers.
2. To celebrate the restored capacity MTA is providing two days of FREE FARES for all MTA riders.
Policy Remaining in Place
Masks must be worn inside the Transfer Station & inside all MTA buses. This is a federal Transit policy.
Background
• MTA never missed a day of service since the start of the pandemic in Macon-Bibb County (March 2020).
• MTA was among the first transit authorities to take the temperature of staff & riders, & among the first to mandate masks. We attribute our low infection rate to our proactive policies. If you’ve never ridden an MTA bus or haven’t recently, we invite you to ride with us. For an enjoyable trip around downtown Macon, hop on Sparky, one of our two new electric buses (October 2020) and ride the Second Street Corridor, which takes an hour.
