Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Alters Bellevue Route During College Street Bridge Replacement

Effective: Tuesday, May 26, 2020

BACKGROUND INFORMATION FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT of TRANSPORTATION (GDOT)

· Contractors are replacing the bridge over the railroad tracks beneath College Street.  

· Bridge replacement necessitates road closure just south of Appleton Ave. to just south of College Street Spur.

· Signage marking the closure and detour are installed.

· Duration of closure: potentially, as long as 180 days.

In response to the bridge closure/replacement, MTA’s Bellevue route will operate as follows: 

Bus departs Terminal Station on Fifth Street, travels to MLK & turns left (at Capital City Bank/Mercer Medicine).

Bus turns right onto Poplar Street, passes College Street & Hardeman Avenue & turns left onto Monroe Street. 

Bus continues to Oglethorpe Street, where it makes a right turn & returns to regular route.

NOTE

Bellevue bus does not pass Navicent Health outgoing, but does pass Navicent when returning to Transfer Station.
