The MTA held its monthly board meeting at the Terminal Station on Tuesday, June 29.
Highlights included:
1. Ratified $1,500 signing bonus for fixed route buses driver who currently hold a CDL license and a “P” endorsement. The perspective employee must sign on with MTA for at least one year.
2. MTA is investigating a route to South Bibb County’s industrial area.
3. MTA is delighted to have received a Downtown Challenge Grant for $14,500 to complete the expansive mural space at the corner of Fifth & Poplar Streets. MTA is doing Call for artist submissions. 4. Bike Walk Macon also received a Downtown Challenge Grant which in part, they will use for Multi-Modal Macon Bus Stop Seating, Lighting, and Bike Racks at public spaces around the city.
